AUTOCAD 2D TRAINING – INTRODUCTION

This AutoCAD training course is designed for beginners. In 2 days it will turn you into a confident AutoCAD user. It leads you though the basics of how AutoCAD works and then gets you creating plans and drawings so that you get plenty of practical experience of using AutoCAD. Although you won’t be an expert by the time you leave us, you will be very comfortable working with AutoCAD and able to create simple plans and drawings independently. We use AutoCAD 2017 for our training.
Candidate who have completed this course, or who have equivalent knowledge will be in a position to progress to our Intermediate course.

Course Description

You do not need any previous experience of using AutoCAD 2d.
However this course assumes a basic understanding of Windows,including an ability to work with multiple windows and navigate the desktop as well as having an understanding of computer file storage (i.e. drives, files and folders).

By the end of this course, students will be comfortable working independently with AutoCAD,They will be able to create AutoCAD 2D drawings, navigate the environment, manipulate AutoCAD 2D objects and plot drawings.

COURSE DETAILS


The introductory session in this course explains the set up of AutoCAD and also introduces creating, saving and closing new drawings. It also gets you editing a simple existing drawing for the first time.

WORKING WITH DRAWINGS

Now that you have been introduced to AutoCAD, we get started on the basics of drawings.
 We explain how co-ordinate systems work, how to create simple shapes and also how to snap object together and The basics of creating a new AutoCAD drawing.

The key topics covered include:

Basic commands – LINE, ARC, CIRCLE
Co-ordinate systems – UCS & WCS
Precision Input ,Using Absolute, Relative and Polar Coordinates
Object Snapping,Selecting Groups of Objects
Controlling the AutoCAD Environment,Using GRIPS

EDITING COMMANDS

This session focuses on editing a drawing once it has been created,We walk you through lots of the simple commands that AutoCAD contains.
Examples include erase, copy and rotate but there are lots more that we cover in this session as you can see.

Array,Rotate,Scale,Stretch
Fillet Chamfer,Trim End
Break,Change,Offset,Chamfer
Fillet Erase,New,Zoom

CONTROLLING DRAWINGS

Now that we’ve introduced creating and editing drawings we move onto higher level controls on drawings,
 We show you how to use layers, annotate your drawing and how to use templates to speed up your work.

Adding Free Text
Using Drawing Templates
Adding Dimensions
Dimension Style Families

PLOTTING

This final session focuses on the various ways that you can output your drawing from AutoCAD.

Selecting a plotter / printer

This AutoCAD 3D training course provides a basic understanding of how to design and modify 3D models using AutoCAD 3D software.
Creating 3D models helps users better visualize and present designs that are created with CAD. We  use AutoCAD 2017 for our training.

COURSE DETAILS:

3D MODELLING

This session introduces the basics of 3D modelling using AutoCAD. It covers primitives (basic shapes) which can be used as the basis for other more complex shapes or on their  own and creating 3D scenes from 2D profiles. It then moves to show you creating composite solids which are objects that are produced by combining two or more individual objects. It also covers some of the techniques for working in 3D and also how you can create a 3D model from some of your existing 2D cross-sections.

EDITING MODELS

Having shown you how to create solid models in the previous session we now look at how you can edit your 3D models. So how you can add detail to your existing models, how you can convert and edit them. We also look at how you extract dimensions and geometry from 3D models, and how you can replicate your models.

CREATING DRAWINGS FROM 3D MODELS

This session looks at extracting 2D drawings from your 3D models.
The key topics covered include:
Sectioning a Solid Model and Generating 2D Geometry
Creating working 2D Drawings from 3D Models

VISUALISATION TOOLS
This session focuses on manipulating the view of a model once it has been produced. It starts by working though visual styles. These impact how your image is rendered as it could be made transparent, wireframe, or a number of other different visual styles depending on what style makes your model easiest to work with. It then moves onto creating cameras and views in your model before showing you you how to introduce the sun, or other lighting into your model. It also shows you how to define materials in your models.

NON-AUTOCAD 3D
This final session looks at non-AutoCAD 3D packages and how it can be used to work them.
